With numerous celebrations planned nationwide for the 250th Anniversary next year, now is the ideal time to refresh your knowledge of Revolutionary History. Join A-1 Tours this July as we explore NYC in preparation for next year’s grand festivities. Led by a licensed tour guide, we will visit and learn about some of the most renowned sites connected to Revolutionary History. A-1 Tours will pick you up from your chosen location and transport you comfortably to New York City.
This tour uniquely combines the old and the new, providing an extraordinary New York City experience. Admire modern skyscrapers and historic landmarks while uncovering the rich history of Lower Manhattan, including the captivating story of Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton, served as an aide to General George Washington and played a significant role in crucial battles. As the architect of the nation’s financial system, he established the Bank of New York, creating a lasting connection with downtown Manhattan and the Financial District. Depending on time, we will make a brief stop in Brooklyn’s DUMBO, a key location during the Battle of Brooklyn, where the British victory forced the Continental Army to retreat across the East River. We will visit the Morris Jumel Mansion, the summer residence of British Colonial Roger Morris, which General George Washington used with his officers after their retreat from Brooklyn.
This tour will take you through the vibrant streets of Midtown and Lower Manhattan, showcasing many of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Times Square, the Theatre District, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, and a glimpse of Central Park. Highlights in Lower Manhattan feature Fraunces Tavern on Pearl Street, a historic meeting place for Hamilton and other Founding Fathers, as well as Wall Street, Federal Hall (where Hamilton served as the first Secretary of the Treasury), and Trinity Church, his final resting place.
After the tour, you will have time to enjoy dinner at your own expense before heading to Broadway to experience the incredible production of “Hamilton.” This award-winning show narrates Hamilton’s journey from a poor orphan to becoming Washington’s right-hand man.
This tour provides a unique opportunity to explore New York City while immersing yourself in its remarkable history.
Following the show, the group will board the coach, and A-1 Tours will transfer you back to your selected drop-off location.

first crossing – washington’s crossing

Washington’s Crossing Historic Park is the site where General George Washington and his courageous troops crossed the frigid Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776. Each year, thousands of enthusiastic visitors gather along the banks of the Delaware River to witness a 45-minute reenactment of this historic crossing, along with General Washington’s inspiring speech. The reenactment features hundreds of participants dressed in authentic Continental military uniforms using replica boats to cross the river.
Alongside the reenactment, attendees can enjoy engaging demonstrations that vividly depict colonial life. Experience skilled blacksmithing, hear the thunder of musket fire, and more. A variety of food vendors will also be on hand to offer delicious refreshments.
This event provides a wonderful opportunity to step back in time and learn about this pivotal moment that took place nearly 250 years ago. All transportation to and from the events will be provided by A-1 Limousine’s exceptional vehicles and professional drivers.

Virginia International Tattoo & Arts Festival (Norfolk, VA)

Join A-1 tours for a three day tour to the Virginia Arts Festival. Virginia Arts Festival is held annually in April featuring a variety of performances featuring a impressive lineup of marching bands, drill teams, dancers and vocalists. The international Tattoo takes place over four days and includes events such as the NATO Flag Raising and The Annual Parade of Nations. It’s a great time to visit Norfolk, VA.
The International Tattoo features a remarkable international cast with over 800 civilian and military performers. It is a moving tribute to the service of our military personnel with powerful music and mashing performances along with heartfelt presentations.
On our journey south, we’ll make a stop Annapolis, MD, to explore the picturesque streets of the historic district with a guide, delving into its unique history and culture. We’ll also take a brief highlights tour of the US Naval Academy. Before enjoying a light lunch. From here we board the coach and continue our trip to Virginia.
Upon arriving at the hotel in Virginia Beach, you’ll have the evening to spend at your leisure. We will be staying at Sandcastle Beach Resort, a 3* beach front property. The following day will be dedicated to attending the Virginia Arts Festival, culminating in the spectacular International Tattoo performance at 7:30 PM.
The next morning, we’ll depart Virginia Beach and make a stop in Alexandria and visit Arlington National Cemetery. Established during the Civil War, the cemetery spans 639 acres and serves as the final resting place for over 400,000 military personnel, veterans, and other notable figures. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see Arlington House, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Memorial Amphitheater, and the Eternal Flame marking President John F. Kennedy’s gravesite. We’ll enjoy lunch before heading back home.
